There are several people I would like to commemorate as special humans of Mexico City: Felipe Gomez, who graciously vacated his room for my whole stay in Mexico City by moving to his parents house. I was truly feeling at home at this wonderful apartment in the center of the La Condesa. Felipe is a witty philosopher, who is currently working hard to improve the external image of Mexico, a graduate of UNAM and Warwick University, he loves his country, BBQ and a green color.

Nathan is a big and funny white American, quoted – his own description, continued with statement: “America is still the country for white. The system is marginalizing people who are different.” Nathan says that he was living an american cliche, waiting tables – a perfect job for a lazy american. He smoked a lot of pot too, and got fired from 15 different jobs. Until one day when he and his then girlfriend gave away their first son for adoption.

The last week in US I have spent in San Francisco, a city in the style of disco, as one old Russian song suggested. Besides being the dream and a desired place for many, it is certainly a blessed in many ways land. A Golden fever never stops, with the new tech being a new gold, as if there is an empirical unseen magnetic power attracts wealth.

What a busy busy night—the TEDActive reception was at full swing, conversations were clicking along at the speed of reading names off attendees’ badges. Tip-toeing my way out of the crowd, I paused before the mini-tortillas station, feeling hungry at last for real food instead of the bite-sized ideas much more readily available around me.
